🌸 Wearable Arts 🌸

Tonight we are having an evening of Wearable Arts we are modelling our costumes that we have been working on for the past 9 weeks. It was a very stressful time for our group to get everything done we are doing our dress on The Cherry Blossom Festival. We have made our skirts out of plaited newspaper and Origami Cherry Blossom Flowers and the Top half we ironed plastic bags and paper mached it and then painted it white. After the paint had dried we cut a v through the middle of the back of the top and zig zaged ribbon through the holes. The Cherry Blossom festival started when Japan sent over 1 thousand Cherry Blossom trees to America for a peace offering.

What we did well ~ Towards the end we started working well together and got it finished on time.

What we didn't do so well ~ At the start we were not working well together and it turned to a disaster.

What could we change ~  Spend less time on the prototype and more time on the dress .

Week 8 Term 2

This week we have been working on a report we got to choose out of the Heart, Eyes and pancreas My buddy and I choose the eyes and for maths I have been doing a work book that the teacher gave us to do in our maths time.

If you know about the eye you will know a lot about this but if you don’t well we are here to tell you about a few things about the eye and what can happen to the eye. The eyes are a pair of globular organs of sight in the head of humans and vertebrate animals. The eyes are made up of different structures and different diseases.

Also this week we were given on maths buddy some tests on maths there were Area and Volume, Speed, Time and units of measure. My favourite test would have to be area and volume my least favourite test was Speed. From the tests I found that I need to work on finding out the average speeds.

Wk 9 Reflections

This Week has been really rushed.
Today is the Family Fiesta and I have been busy making cupcakes because this year Totara Hub are making cupcakes for the fiesta and people will be able to bid on them tonight Mamaku Hub made sea creatures Pohutukawa Hub made windmills and Rata Hub are painting boiled eggs. I found making mine was fun and easy.

For Literacy/Topic this week I have been learning about Anzac I was given some information about Animals at war, The Front-line, Life at home and military hospitals. I found it easy to find information about why horse´s were used in the war but I found it challenging to find information about Investigating the unwelcome visitors that soldiers had to contend with in the trenches such as rats and lice.
So far I have worked on Animals at war.

For Numeracy this week I have been learning about the circumference of a circle I found it hard to understand. This weeks word problems and math maintenance were easy to solve.
